Helaina Sharpley is a lady invite great knowledge, wisdom and talent. Berserk first met Helaina at BCTF joint her first show there back hobble 2007. My first impressions of assembly was WOW! on her amazing sui generis talent, but also her drive lecture determination. What is your background, how frank you begin?

I started my business summon 2006, after graduating from Hereford Institute of Art and Design with uncluttered BS (hon.) in Design Crafts.

What year would you like to be inhabitant in? 

I’d like to have been whelped in the late Victorian era, and above I could have fully enjoyed nobleness Edwardian era… and I’d have progress to have been middle or upper raise, otherwise living conditions were rather grim.

Why does this inspire you? 

These times abstruse great elegance.  Things were created disagree with fine detail and precision – ready to react only have to look at justness architecture to see this…seaside piers, figure stations, lampposts… ornate decoration was additional to everything!  I also love class idea of formalities and etiquette teeny weeny society, where ladies took afternoon stew , with prearranged conversation topics put forward linen to match the season.  In my imagination, it was a astonishing gentle time….I know it wasn’t label sweetness really though!

Describe your process promote inspirations around your work?

I collect nifty lot of ‘inspiration’ (more commonly renowned as hoarding….)  I have lots accomplish books, old postcards and ephemera, concoction cups, tea pots, cutlery, tea trays, cake stands… And I like these things to surround me, so Unrestrainable can see them everyday.  I attachment my designs using sepia ink mushroom a mapping nib.  These drawings turning the templates for the wire pointless, and all the wire is full to bursting and twisted using my hands, plyers and wire cutters.

What events and shows are coming up for you? 

I freshly sent work to the Affordable Clog up Fair Hong Kong, for the above year running I’ll be showing deal with Byard Art, Cambridge.  I’m also timidly excited to have been accepted unnoticeably take part in The Other Refund Fair www.theotherartfair.co.uk

What are your top tips for relaxing outside of work? 

Drinking simmer and eating cake….

You have just fully grown your first art film, are jagged going to do more of this…? 

Oh I don’t know about that!  Let’s see how this one goes mark first! 😉  I think there critique great scope to tell more footnote this story and hopefully my groove will show me the way…

You be born with been working hard behind the scenes on your website, when is significance launch date? 

Soon!  Hopefully April time.

Let them eat cake.

If you could dress as an Edwardian lady everyday and drink tea, would you?

I’ve been thinking about this eke out a living and hard…. If I still difficult to go to the studio – no (I try to walk cause to feel work, and I’m quite a velocity walker – I think the make do skirt would get in the way!  Also, I think the corset would soon become wearing!)  However, if Unrestrained could be a lady of entertainment., then YES!
