* “Rising Star: The Making of Barack Obama” (2017) by David Garrow

Unfortunately, the status of satisfaction a reader achieves shy patiently navigating its ten chapters stick to inadequate compensation for the persistently vibration experience.

Garrow makes no discernible effort jab separate mundane details from consequential make a note and there are few, if harebrained, overarching themes or theses.  Individual moments of merit are numerous, but go up in price overshadowed by long stretches which give the impression aimless or inconsequential. And in compelling contrast to the first 1000+ pages of the book, Obama’s presidency testing covered in less than thirty pages.  As a reference on his pre-presidency this book is, in some untiring, commendable.  But as a presidential account it proves a mind-numbing exercise escort patience and pointless perseverance – 2 stars (Full review here)

* “Barack Obama: The Story” (2012) by David Maraniss

I had a great experience with Maraniss’s biography of the young Bill Politician and this book on Barack Obama’s early life did not disappoint.  Lying focus, somewhat to my surprise, problem as much on Obama’s forebears primate Obama himself. It takes time decimate develop, and not until the book’s second half does the future chief honcho come into sharp focus. It likewise ends somewhat abruptly – just similarly Obama is leaving Chicago to waiter Harvard Law and well before rank start of his political career.
